I have designed and constructed rural and urban environments in a large-scale Minecraft world. This server has been a personal project of mine for the past three years, and I have worked on it whenever I had large amounts of free time away from school. I have big ideas for this server and I expect to be working on it for the next five years, at least. The server currently has 8 large scale mansions which have each taken between 1-3 months to build, and are the equivalent to between 20,000 sqft - 38,000 sqft in real life measurements. There are an additional 10 large homes that aren’t quite big enough for estate status. The rest of the suburbs will be developed as time goes on. Outside of the suburbs, the city has an in-progress tram line, a train station, bicycle paths, comfortable walkable infrastructure, and housing which is continually in progress. The main housing in the city so far consists of townhouses, rowhouses, and other apartment buildings. There are also parking garages which are situated underground in order to keep the city beautiful and to avoid contamination and congestion caused by cars. In the expanded part of the city which is largely undeveloped so far, there is an in-progress airport which features an experimentally built Boeing-777 passenger jet. Eventually, the train rails will reach every important point throughout the server. The server also features rural farmland, greenhouses, windmills, rivers, canals, and lakes. All hand carved and built by me. The goal is to have eventually developed a Minecraft world that incorporates the very best of urban/city design techniques into one completed server. I am always getting inspiration for this server from the architecture and design of real-life cities and countries, including Boston, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Bosnia, Germany, and France.
